The Mini-time Machine Museum volunteers are important people who work out front and behind-the –scenes with museum staff to provide a museum experience that is fun, educational and engaging for community members of all ages. Volunteers work and average of 4 hours per week performing a variety of duties in three areas: Education, Operations and Gallery Support.

Education opportunities include Docent, Kids Create Volunteer, Education Assistant, and Outreach Presenter
- Docents engage visitors in informational tours of The Mini-Time Machine Museum’s collection for all visitors (early childhood, elementary through secondary schools, college classes, community clubs and organizations.) School tours are thematic and based on Arizona state curriculum standards.
- Kids Create Volunteers work with youth and special interest groups leading activities such as hands-on art making, story time, book club discussions, etc. both in-house and at venues away from the Museum.
- Education Assistants prepare gallery guides and design educational teaching tools for use in the museum.
- Outreach Presenters provide informative presentations about miniatures to professional and service organizations at venues away from the Museum including schools, libraries, community centers, and senior assisted living communities.
Operations opportunities include office assistants (computer volunteer, clerical assistant, data entry volunteer, image database volunteer, publications assistant, editor, Spanish translator, photographer) and facility assistant. For more information click here.
- Office Assistants work behind the scenes to support operational functions in museum departments such as data collection, filing and mailing, database entry, editing, documentation and translation.
- Facility Assistants help with general maintenance support.
Gallery Support opportunities include greeter, call-in greeter, gallery monitor and museum store assistant. For more information click here
- Greeters/Gallery Monitors provide visitor services-welcome visitors, answer questions and phones, tally visitors and monitor visitor behavior in the galleries.
- Museum Store Assistants support functions of the gift shop such as inventory management, sales, display and filing and packaging point-of-sale orders.
